Thoughts on Get Out
Get Out is a smart, fun, thriller. Building up to a exciting climax. The acting is good for the most part with Allison Williams as the sad exception. There are some humorous tones to the film but it still manages to be creepy in atmosphere. It is shot well and fights off the schlock elements with sincere performances. It's worth seeing for any scary movie fan.
Thoughts on Gerald's Game
Gerald's Game follows the novel pretty well. The acting is really good and the gore is wince inducing. It feels like a stage play at times but it is an ambitious movie that works despite it's premise. It is a good movie worth checking out.

Thoughts on La La Land
La La Land is impressive filmmaking. Visually this movie is beautiful and a great homage to old Hollywood. I can see how the ending could be seen as depressing. However, I don't see it that way. These two don't mourn what could have been but see that their time together made them better people in the long run and they are clearly happy in their lives. Is it a stereotypical romance? No, but that makes it a bit more realistic and interesting.

Thoughts on Fifty Shades Darker
Fifty Shades of Grey was nothing great. It at least had a narrative and simple dialogue. The sequel Fifty Shades Darker is a muddled mess. The script is awful and the plot labyrinthine. I have seen more coherent stories in soft core porn movies on cable. If you want erotica, you will get it here but with no substance.

Thoughts on T2:Trainspotting
Sequels made decades after the fact are usually not very good. T2: Trainspotting is actually pretty good. The tone follows the original and actually feels like a good follow up for the characters. It felt like actual progression. If you liked the first one then I recommend this movie as a follow up. It at least doesn't feel like a forced cash grab like so many others in the same field.

Thoughts on Little Evil
Little Evil is a pretty cute dark comedy. It has a lot of charming performances and really is playful with the demonic child genre. For the most part it plays it pretty safe but it is at the very least entertaining. If you are looking for something a little unique from Netflix than this little movie will certainly do the trick.

Thoughts on Wind River
Wind River is a damn good movie. Well acted, chilling story, and visualsvthat are haunting. There are a few holes in the plot but the film doesn't suffer because of them. The pacing is slow and the characters take time to develop with the story without the aid of awkward exposition. It is a thrilling crime drama that will leave you talking about it after the film ends. Check it out if tou can.
